Wow.
My last post was September 7th, 2010. That was 14 months and two days ago.
To think of how much shit has changed in my life since then, and then think about how truly different it is.... it's amazing.
Well, here's a quick summary.
School started. I quit blogging. School kicked my ass. My life fell apart. I attempted to fix my life. I failed. I attempted to fix my life again, I succeeded. Summer came, I caught up on credits and became a 5th year senior. I dated a girl. It didn't work out. A magazine saw this very blog. They liked my Tosh Piece. I said publish away. They currently own it in their archive. Then October came, and they asked me to write my first original piece based on something music related. So I did. It was based on Drake. It was a masterpiece, to sound modest. It came out on November first for Front Row Monthly magazine and was my first ever published article. Out of arrogance and support, I ordered 10 copies at $22 a pop, coming out to grand total of $220. In case you're interested, go to Front Row Monthly and click on the Expand button on the magazine, check out page 71-72.
Anyways, that brings me to today. I have decided to start this blog again, hopefully on a weekly basis if not more. The point is to keep my creativity in check and polish my abilities. For anyone involved in writing for a magazine, you know how stressful it can be to write something you think is perfect and have someone edit out your favorite parts. But thats part of the game. Trust me, I act cocky, but I know I don't have the F-U power to tell my editor that she can't edit that or I'm leaving. Mainly, because I don't get paid or have a contract, which is why I can still have this blog. In addition to that, a very wonderful girl in my life also just started a blog, and I will admit she shows a lot of promise. Granted, she will never be me, but I was amazed after knowing her as a person to see how great of writer she is.
In fact, that goes for anyone. If you aren't the most intelligent speaker or charismatic person but have a lot to say, start writing. Don't worry about who's reading and who's not. Some people have the gift of bullshitting. I am not one of those people. However, I have always had great English departments and a crazy creative mind with viewpoints that range from funny to practical to clinically insane. I have always been that person who has an argument and then twenty minutes later yell "FUCK!!! I should have said that instead!!!". Many of us have those moments, and that is because crafting words correctly is a gift. Imagine if Eminem only free-styled and never started writing.
With that in mind, I hope people will start reading this again. Thank all of you for giving me support in more ways than one over the past year, whether it was personal, writing, or whatever. You all know who you are, and I will always love you. For all of you that took the time to read but never said anything, I love you too. Sometimes it's hard to admit you like someone's "blog". I get it. However, for all of you that think I was wasting my time and that no one cares about my opinion, to you I say "FUCK OFFFFFF BITCHES" because I am only getting started...
Before I sign out, I just want to say please follow the blog of the aforementioned wonderful girl, at World of Bubbs . Great job Bubbsy keep it up.
Finally, I'm gonna post something Paterno/PSU related within the next 24 hours because the way that administration handled this Sandusky event represents everything that is wrong and corrupt about the NCAA/College FB...and it sure as hell isn't the fans, players, or Cam Newton's dad.
Happy Hump Day everyone!!
The one and only
Greg
We live in a world where everyone is blind. In order to see, you must acquire glasses throughout life to view with perspective. Let's just say, I have a shitload of glasses. Let me help you see what I see..
